"I start with an idea and then I just explore it. What happens is that I’ll have like a little embryonic idea and then it will sort of splinter off into three or four different ideas that are all gapping in different parts. Then it’s a case of trying to bring them all back together again, to make them sort of one coherent thing. And that’s where you get that sense of movement. There’ll be two or three different parts that I’ll move through. Sometimes it’s worth sticking with one idea and cutting the others loose, but I like to connect all of the different tangents that one embryonic idea will take."
